EET for Credit Enrollment Flow – 2025-08-18

Date: 2025-08-18
Attendees: Andy, David, Gowtham, Kunal, Martin, Li
Focus: Exploratory testing session for the Credit Enrollment flow

Session Overview

Facilitation

  • Driver: Gowtham (prepared the test plan & Postman collection; handled operations in LoanPro).
  • The driver role was not rotated due to having only one Postman endpoint and the need for efficiency across Kibana and LoanPro operations.

Introductions

  • Li explained the concept of ensemble exploratory testing.
  • Gowtham gave a brief overview of the Credit Enrollment flow.

Test Scenarios & Findings

  1. Normal Workflow

    • Created a CreditSecurityDeposit account, a CreditSecured account, and a credit card.
    • Performed one transaction, checked Firebase, Kibana logs, Hydra, and LoanPro.
    • Issues:
      • Hydra does not clearly indicate which card is the credit card (grooming started per Andy).
      • CreditSecured account balance not updating correctly in Hydra.
  2. Transaction : Authorization amount over credit limit

    • Issues:
      • Declined in LoanPro, but still marked as PreAuth in Firebase.
      • Declined transaction in LoanPro can still settle in Majority.
  3. Blocked User Creating Credit Card

    • Correctly shows Account Restricted.
    • Able to create credit card after unblocking ✅.
  4. Pre-Auth Transaction → Void

    • Issue: Status mismatch – LoanPro shows Pending while Firebase shows Cancelled.
  5. Settle Credit Transaction → Return Reverse

    • Not functioning as expected; requires further investigation.
  6. No Money in Deposit Account → Create Credit Account

    • Issue: Creates a CreditSecured account but no credit card. After adding funds, user cannot create another CreditSecured account due to the existing one.
  7. Two Pre-Auths Exceeding Balance

    • Second transaction declined in LoanPro, but can be forced through on our side (similar to Scenario #2).

Debrief 💡

  • Overall, this was a fruitful session:
    • Great preparation by Gowtham 👏.
    • Strong contributions from all attendees, uncovering multiple issues.
  • The team gained both familiarity with exploratory testing and insight into the Credit Enrollment feature.
  • Suggestion: Prepare internal testing endpoints for LoanPro to streamline future sessions.
