Background

Many db tables have a companion _Log table, to which updates and deletes of the original table are inserted into by a trigger. Over times these become very big. These tables are not really needed anymore since all important updates should be tracked in the data warehouse. At the same time we never query these log tables, and even if we wanted they are too heavy to be efficiently queried.

Decision

Remove trigger and tables.

Consequences

• This will free up around 200GB of db storage, reduce db DTU usage.
• Tickets needs to be added to jira and prioritized.
