Meeting Highlights πΒΆ
Localization Issue πΒΆ
* Lars highlighted several key reasons behind the missing Spanish localization and also proposed some valuable improvements to prevent similar issues in the future. Slides
* Viktor listed other locale-related bugs impacting the pspfunding and remittance areas.
* π We dove into the details on this page
* π‘ We brainstormed both long-term (as outlined in the user story) and some quick short-term fixes:
* Testing in Spanish by default
* Always sending the locale in all events π€
* Creating locale-specific tests when the amount is available as input π°
Testing Toolkit Treasures π οΈΒΆ
* I presented the updated test documentation π and Postman collection π¦ for Payment Request and Mpay to Anyone.
* These resources are super helpful for ad-hoc testing during development and exploratory testing β leading to better backend testing before the Mpay to Anyone release! π
* π£οΈ Developers brought up the idea of collection syncing with GitHub and locking, but unfortunately, that's a feature of a higher-tier Postman plan. π
* π‘ Good news though! We can achieve a similar result by forking the Postman collection. π―
* Anders also mentioned exploring Swagger tests later on. π€ Let's keep that in mind!
Integration Innovation π€ΒΆ
* Finally, Anders proposed a smart strategy: running a set of integration tests π§ͺ an extra time for previous version of code after database migrations are run in PR pipeline.
* This would avoid most issues with database migrations being made that are not backward-compatible. π
* We all agreed this is a great way forward! Anders and Gowtham will team up to give it a go in the Astra service. π§βπ€βπ§
A truly fruitful meeting indeed! Let's keep our focus on quality! β¨
